The high-pressure chiller booster unit PRO 10 – UV provides 70-140 bar of pressure within the ‘Smart cooling™’ system. The pumping station is housing for a specially developed high-pressure pump, valves, the electronics for the automated operation of the adiabatic cooling system and a block of Ultraviolet lamps. The UV lamps purify and sterilize the water to protect against bacteria, including Legionella.

|4 . Water treatment system BY|
Four stage water treatment system to remove limescale, Legionella bacteria, dust and other contaminants. Firstly, water is filtered to reduce dirt and other contaminants. Secondly, the structure of the lime molecules is altered, thus preventing sediment of limescale to occur on the surfaces of the air cooling equipment components. The structure of the molecule of the lime is altered with the help of special electro-magnetic magnet and BIO tablets, which simultaneously protect metal parts from rust. Thirdly, water is radiated with UV rays to prevent Legionella and other bacteria formation in the water.

‘Smart cooling™’ intelligent pre-cooling system significantly reduces temperature of the air entering conditioning unit.
Air conditioning and air cooling units are typically the largest consumers of electricity in commercial buildings, therefore, by substantially reducing electrical consumption, significant financial savings can be made.
Here is an example of how one of our customers, Schneider Electric, made both financial and environmental savings.
Air conditioning and cooling unit manufacturers provide information on the performance of their systems. This information is available in the form of standardized tables that state what cooling capacity the unit is capable of achieving under certain ambient air temperatures, along with how much power is used in kW / h.
Regardless of the manufacturer, there is a common relationship; the higher the temperature of the air entering the chiller system, the greater the required cooling capacity. Consequently, the higher the power consumption will be.
Below is the necessary cooling capacity and energy consumption in hot weather, before and after the use of the ‘Smart cooling™’ adiabatic system using the Schneider Electric air conditioning and cooling unit as an example.
We analyzed the cooling capacity and energy consumption data of the YCAS 0475EB air conditioning system at ambient air temperatures of 20°C and 38°C. This is shown as a red horizontal line in the table below. Following the data from the table we get the following indicators of cooling capacity and power consumption:
T = 25°C, N(cooling capacity) = 507 kW/h; N(electricity) = 104.3 kW/h
T = 40°C, N(cooling power) = 418 kW/h; N(electricity) = 149.2 kW/h
Through the use of the ‘Smart cooling™’ adiabatic system, the temperature of the air entering the Schneider Electric air conditioning and cooling unit was lowered to 25°C.
Based on the data provided in the Table provided by the manufacturer, the following parameters were obtained:
Ability to produce 89 kW/h more (about 20%) of cooling capacity based on the calculation N(T, 25°C – T, 40°C) and % N(T, 40°C – T, 25°C) / N(T, 40°C).
Saving power consumption of 44.9 kW/h (around 30%) based on the calculation N(T, 25°C – T, 40°C) and % N(T, 40°C – T, 25°C) / N(T , 40°C).
The installation of the ‘Smart cooling™’ system solves both the problem of low cooling capacity and drastically reduces energy consumption. In this example, after installing the adiabatic cooling system, Schneider Electric saved 44.9 kW/h every hour, which equates to 359 kW/h per day and 7 184 kW/h per month.

- What additional operational costs are incurred by using ‘Smart cooling™’ system?
While using the intelligent pre-cooling system cooling system, the following costs are incurred:
1. To eliminate limescale forming on the condenser of air conditioning systems, special BIO chemistry tablets are added to the water. The BIO tablets actively alter the molecular structure of the water to neutralize the lime molecules present that build up and cause lime scale and corrosion on the surfaces on the air conditioning unit that come into contact with the water. There is also no risk of the water carrying or transmitting Legionella bacteria as ‘Smart cooling™’ system is also fully equipped with UV lamps to prevent bacteria remaining in the ‘smart release’ water supply.
Replacement of the BIO tablets should be performed once a month. This simple process takes less than 5 minutes to complete and can be done by your usual maintenance provider or by a trained member of your own staff.
2. Water consumption for the ‘smart release’ fine mist ‘micro nozzle’ components uses on average up to 4-6 m³ of water per day.
